About Me

Allow me to introduce myself!DSC02147

My name is Laura-Ann Chong. My close circle would describe me as a social butterfly, the gymnast, the Cirque du Soleil acrobat, or the one who is never home.

I like to think I am just a Chinese-Canadian Girl who loves to hear other people’s stories and experience all of the wonderful things this world has to offer.

I am a middle-child and both my brother & sister would say I have done an exceptional job at breaking through the “middle-child syndrome.” Needless to say, my entire family has been there to standby my outrageous and unthinkable decisions throughout my 32 years of existence. I am so thankful for the endless sacrifices endured by my family as I would not be who I am or where I am today.

And where am I?

That is exactly why I wanted to create this travel blog. To keep family & friends in the loop of where I have been and where I am going, and to provide advise for those who want to travel. To date, I’ve been to 38 countries across 4 continents. This by far isn’t a know-it-all type travel guide, but a quick take on how my trip to these places went and personal preferences that you can explore.

My travel agenda is unusual in that I am only home once or twice within a year, and a “long weekend” is 2 consecutive days off called a “Double-Dark.”

In this blog, I will describe how we make the most out of 48 hours as well as other exciting adventures that require a few more sunrises.

Oh – and why Upside Down Travel?

Well, I almost never go anywhere without doing a handstand and you just never know when the places you go will introduce you to people who will in fact, turn your life upside down.
